The Brilliant Bella is a web comic about Bella, a super heroine, co-created by Thomas Morrison (writer) and Tiina Birgitta Räisänen (artist). Bella has left her home in the Paradisaical land of Avalon to come to the 1939 American city of Middleton and taken the alias of police woman Donna De Angelo to not only fight criminals, mobsters, monsters and super villains, but also finds herself inadvertently fighting the social injustices that are prevalent against women in pre World War II America.

Page 8 - The loneliness of the midnight watchman!
Ah, another quiet night at the museum. It can be a little boring at times, as nothing ever really happens, and so our guard friend, Ralph Johnson, enjoys catching up on his favorite pulp magazines! This week it's Weird Crime Stories! The only problem is that sometimes his imagination gets the best of him...
Or was that a real gun shot he just heard?

Page 7 - Here comes trouble!
Well things seemed so peaceful for a minuet there. Now what's this? Three strange men standing in an alley outside the Middleton Museum? What are there intentions? Hey, this is a STORY!!! A story needs some kind of tension! Or bad guy to vanquish! Or problem to solve! So with such a dark mysterious alleyway like that, they can't mean any good!
Page 6 - Night at the Museum!
Ralph Johnson is night guard for the Middleton Museum. It's an OK job but it can be a little lonely at times. Ones imagination has a way of running away with itself. That's why he tries to keep his mind occupied with the latest pulp magazine. His favorite pulps are the hard-boiled detective variety with lots of stories of the criminal underworld and such. This way he doesn't jump at shadows and such...
Or at least that's the idea.
Or at least that's the idea.
Page 5 - A womans palce is in the home!
Officer Richard Dooley, Dick for short, is driving with his new partner, Officer Donna DeAngelo. Officer Dooley, Dick, is not so happy about the police forces new policies on the equal rights of the sexes, and lets Officer DeAngelo know it. Maybe he would have a different opinion if he new that his partner is secretly the infamous and powerful new heroine, The Brilliant Bella.
And then again maybe not.
And then again maybe not.
