The Brilliant Bella is a web comic about Bella, a super heroine, co-created by Thomas Morrison (writer) and Tiina Birgitta Räisänen (artist).
Bella has left her home in the Paradisaical land of Avalon to come to the 1939 American city of Middleton and taken the alias of police woman Donna De Angelo to not only fight criminals, mobsters, monsters and super villains, but also finds herself inadvertently fighting the social injustices that are prevalent against women in pre World War II America.

An artists inspiration can come from anywhere. In the case of this story it came from a page of Brubaker and Epting's Marvel Projects. Dr. Erskine is walking through his lab sharing his project to create a super soldier for Nazi Germany with a fellow scientist.
